Screening - Request a Bureau Swap
Symptom You have screened an applicant and are unable to return results for an applicant from a specific credit bureau. You would like to check for screening results for this applicant through another Bureau. Environment LeasingDesk Screening Cause The applicant may not have any credit history such as No Record or No Tradelines or may have a file freeze/credit block on their file in the specific bureau. Requires Support? No Resolution If your property has the option Ability to initiate bureau swap turned on, a user with the ability to override will be able to perform a bureau swap for the following: Thin file - No Record Thin files - No Tradelines You may also perform a bureau swap to see if another bureau will show a different credit result To confirm if your property has this option: 1. Go to Settings (Gear icon) > General property -Â Screening > General Settings 2. In the Scorecard section, Credit > Ability to initiate bureau swap will show as selected if enabled. If an applicant returns a Frozen or Blocked file, a user with the right "Perform bureau swap for frozen and/or blocked files" will be able to perform a bureau swap for Frozen or Blocked files. You can swap the bureau by doing the following: 1. Go to the scorecard of the applicant. 2. Click the Change Bureaus button. 3. Select the reason. 4. Click Ok. If the Change Bureaus button does not show, check the following: Check the date the applicants were screened. If it is more than 30 days, please re-screen the applicant. Look at the activity tab as the site may have performed a swap already. If this is the case, the consumer will need to get the bureau to resolve the frozen file and/or the site will need to make a decision based on their business practices. Verify the applicant isn't from Canada. Swaps cannot be performed for Canadian applicants as only one bureau is available.
